OUR CATTERY

We have carefully designed our cattery building to accomadate our precious cats.  It consists of three rooms.  There is a stud room, a queen room, and a breeding room in the middle.  The house is built just like a real house fit for humans to live in.  It is framed like a real house, insulated, heated, drywalled, and very comfortable.  It reminds me of a little cottage in the back yard.  Our cats are very important to us and this building took a long time to get it perfect for them. My wonderful husband and father put all their time and energy in this for many weeks.  All of their spare time was devoted to the cat house. We started building this cattery on our own and found we just didn't have enough time to do what we wanted.  We soon realized we were on a time crunch with winter coming.  We had hired Revolutionary Concrete to do the cement slab and without Gavin we would have never found our construction crew for the finishing work.  To finish our cattery we hired Shawn with SMC construction, who has been wonderful to work with.   This company has put so many hours into this project and has been at our house from sun up to sun down working on it.  Shawn has been so pleasant and has even been patient enough to explain things to the kids when they wanted to watch.  The cattery is now completed and we couldn't be happier.  Our kitties are safe and comfortable.  Most important, they have a place of their own and are so happy.  In the spring SMC will build outdoor runs for us that will connect to the house.  The cats will be able to access it through the cat doors that are currently in place. The entire building will be protected by security cameras at all times and we are just steps away from our babies.  Please feel free to browse through our photographs as the progress was done on this magnificant house.  Of course our kittens will still be born and raised in the house with us.  We would not have it any other way.

The first step, pouring the floor.

Next comes building the walls

Look, the walls are up.  It looks like a house now!

Dad has the roof on now, that was a lot of work.

Shawn has started his finishing work on our cattery.

We have lights, and it is all coming together nicely.

The drywall is up, we have real walls now.

Though the picture is dark you can see the awesome trim work Shawn

and Mike did on this window.  We love it and so will the cats.

The house looks like a little cottage in our backyard.

The house is done, we are so excited. Look how beautiful it turned out.

This is our breeding room with a grooming or storage shelf.

Pat having one last laugh with Shawn before he is done.

This is the girls room.  It is a rose color,

though it looks a little dark in pictures.

This is the boys room. It is a nice calming blue.

They all have to explore their new surroundings.

Gracie checking it all out

Lacee thinking about going out the cat door.  Good thing it is locked.

The outdoor run won't be done until spring.

My beautiful snow girl wandering around in her new room.

Faith on top of the cat condo letting us know who's boss.

The girls love the window seat.

Faith is still a baby and needs comfort from Amber.

This is the boy's room.

Bailey and Tex loving their new cat condo.  The seats are nice and big for big boys.

Everyone gets their own seat since we have three boys.

Bailey finds the window seat.

Tex loves all the room after being cooped up in the bathroom

for so long during the building process.  And he loves his new post.

This is a nice pic of the boy's room.  There is so much room to play and run.

Bailey checking out the heater.  These things are great and don't even feel hot.

As you can see we had to babyproof the cords and outlets.

The heaters are doing their jobs. It is a comfortable 68 degrees in here.

This is the breeding room.

Polar and Zoey are in the breeding room.

Zoey found the shelf and wants to get up there.

Zoey made her way to the top of the shelf.  She loves it up here.

Polar thought he would join her up there.

Polar and Zoey giving me their look of approval.

The kitties are so close to our home.  We love this house.
